We had a customer ask when the best time to use whey protein was and here is what Big Andy said:

Whey protein is best pre and post workout. If you are only going to use it once in a day, use it after your workout.

For athletes who train rigorously, you want to try and consume about 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. It’s not always ideal to sit down and have a chicken breast and vegetables, especially if you are on the go, so this is where whey protein comes into play. You can eat whey protein most any time of the day, and help supplement your overall protein needs.

Also before bedtime a whey protein shake can help fuel your muscle growth as you sleep.

So bottom line, whey protein can be used anytime, just like you would use food, but if you are only going to use it once in the day… use it pre or post workout, preferable post.
